Seats and Billing
The Team tier (and higher team-oriented plans) is per-seat: you pay a flat monthly price per active seat. The Business/Enterprise flat plans are priced differently — this page describes per-seat plans specifically.
Pricing model
- Each seat-based plan defines a per-seat price (
priceUSD) and a minimum seat count (minSeats). - Your monthly charge is
priceUSD × seatCount. - At checkout, you must pick a
seatCount≥minSeats. - Your seat count is the upper bound on active members — you cannot have more active members than paid seats.
Invitations that haven't been accepted yet do not count against your seat count; only active members do.
Adding seats (upgrade)
Adding seats is immediate and prorated:
- Go to Organization → Billing.
- In the Seat Management card, increase the seat count and confirm.
- You complete a checkout for the proration — the difference between your current plan cost and the new one for the remainder of the current billing period.
- As soon as payment succeeds, the new
seatCountis live and you can invite that many more members today.
Because upgrades take effect right away, you don't have to wait for a renewal to onboard someone.
Removing seats (downgrade)
Removing seats is scheduled, not immediate. This protects you from accidentally losing access mid-cycle and keeps billing predictable.
- In the Seat Management card, lower the seat count.
- Confirm. This sets a
pendingSeatCounton the subscription. - You keep your current seat count — and continue paying for it — until the next renewal date.
- On renewal, the
pendingSeatCountis applied: your seat count drops, and the next invoice reflects the new, lower count.
You can cancel or modify a pending downgrade any time before renewal by setting the seat count back up, which applies immediately and clears the pending change.
Before a downgrade takes effect you should remove enough members so that the final active count is ≤ the new seat count. The system does not auto-remove members for you.
Viewing usage and invoices
- Organization → Billing shows the current plan, current seat count, any pending seat change, and upcoming renewal.
- Organization → Billing → Credit Usage (titled AI Usage) shows this month's AI Actions consumed against the org's plan limit.
- Invoices and payment history are listed on the same Billing page.
Quota limits vs seats
Seats control who can work in the organization. Plan-level AI Actions per month and test runs per month limits control how much can be run across the whole org. Both matter — you can run out of AI Actions even if you still have seats, and vice versa. See Features → Testing and your plan's limits on the Pricing page for details.
